A small but meaningful difference in expression, quality, or meaning.
The idea
“I can help” and “I owe you help” make different commitments. A small distinction can protect a large boundary.
An example
“This always works” and “This worked in this situation” are different claims. The second sentence makes room for conditions the first sentence erases. Nuance can make a statement more precise.

Find an “always” or “never” in your own writing. Is that absolute claim justified?
